Northland Truss Systems, Inc. was founded by Rick Pierce in 1992 and started with a   handful of Truss Workers, two Truss Designers, one Truck Driver and an Office   Manager.  N.T.S. designs and manufactures roof trusses and floor trusses for new   construction.  Alpine Engineering of Pompano Beach, Florida approves all of our truss   designs, in addition to furnishing the truss plates for manufacturing our trusses.

  N.T.S. opened it's doors in Abercrombie, North Dakota, just thirty miles south of   Fargo.  The location was chosen because of it's accessibility to Fargo and small cities in   both Minnesota and South Dakota.  Abercrombie is also cost effective compared to the   high priced real estate within the Fargo area.  In January of 1993, N.T.S. expanded to   the Fargo area by opening the General Office, but retaining the company's manufacturing   facility in Abercrombie.  By opening the General Office in Fargo, we made our   design/sales people accessible to our   largest sales base, which includes   contractors and lumberyards in the Fargo-  Moorhead and surrounding areas.

  Since N.T.S. opened, there have been   many additions and improvements   made.We have expanded our   manufacturing facility and purchased top of   the line equipment. In addition, in 1999 we   moved our General Office to a much larger   building in order to house the increasing number of employees and provide better   working conditions. All new computer equipment was installed with new servers in 2003   to network our computers and keep N.T.S on top of the ever-changing technology world   of truss design and production.

   N.T.S. has six semi-trucks with four of those having boom cranes mounted on them capable of extending to over forty feet for setting the trusses on the new buildings.

 Currently, N.T.S. employs approximately forty  year-round employees.  The plant in  Abercrombie consists of production workers and  of those, there are approximately four Foremen,  a Production Manager, a Shop Manager, a  Production-Design Manager and three  Designers.  We also have four Truck Drivers, an Assistant Trucking Manager and three to four yardmen.

The General Office in Fargo employs eleven year-round employees.  They consist of the   President, Office Manager, Trucking Manager, Human Resources, Salesperson, Office   Coordinator, two Design Managers and four designers. 

  In the summer of 2000, we were given the opportunity to supply roof trusses and crane   time for a project that aired on the television show "Hometime".  A very elaborate   garage that incorporated attic trusses, floor trusses, LVL's and metal hangers.

  We are currently one of the largest truss manufacturers in the area. We supply trusses   for projects from Grand Forks, ND to Watertown, SD and from Bismarck, ND to   Minneapolis, MN on a regular basis. We have also built and supplied trusses for projects   in Wisconsin, Iowa and as far as Nebraska.

  During our peak season,  April to November, N.T.S. will have sixty-five to eighty   employees on the payroll, providing employment opportunities in the Fargo - Moorhead   and the surrounding areas.

  During the past few years, Rick Pierce hand-picked and thoroughly trained a top-notch   management team. With the passing of Rick on August 25th of 2003, his wife, Deb Pierce   became the President and Owner of our company. Deb will guide our company in the   direction that Rick had intended by working closely with her management team.   Northland Truss will carry on in our tradition of providing excellent product and customer   service. 

  Chris Lange will assume the role and responsibilities of General Manager.  Chris has   been with Northland Truss Systems, Inc.  since 1997 and has exceptional work ethics   and extensive knowledge of the truss business.  Chris will be dividing his time, just as   Rick did, between the Fargo Office and the Plant in Abercrombie.
